The Board of Directors

How the Board is made up

• Seven members, elected by the General Assembly.
• At least 60% women — a minimum of five women out of seven.
• Regional balance: each of Cameroon's five major regional groups holds at least one seat; none holds more than two.
• Presidency: the President of the Board is a woman. The Vice-President belongs to one of the identity groups represented in our Committees: Sages, Youth, Women and Girls, or Gender-Diverse Individuals.
• Checks at every election: the General Assembly verifies gender and regional balance before validating the list; any vacancy that would break the balance is filled by a person who restores it.

What the Board does

The Board of Directors governs 1 YOUTH on behalf of the General Meeting: implementing its decisions, representing the association and monitoring the initiatives carried out in its name. It approves the strategic plan, annual action plans, budgets, audited accounts and management reports; it validates information intended for donors and recruits the external auditor. It does not intervene in day-to-day management unless formally delegated.
